Every follower of Lions’ history knows the chilling score-line: New Zealand 18, British Isles 17. Or more enlightingly, Don Clarke 18 points (6 penalty goals), the Lions 17 (4 tries). By the end of his first-class career he had played 89 times for the All Blacks (including 31 tests) and scored a remarkable 781 points.

Interesting Facts

His 4 brothers Ian, Doug, Brian & Graeme all represented Waikato and played with him against Thames Valley in 1961.
